Play Karlo Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Play Karlo mobile app ("Play Karlo", "the app", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Play Karlo is operated by DeskApps. If you have any questions, write to premcayt@gmail.com.

By using the app you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Information you give us

Account details. You can use the app without an account. If you sign in, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google, or the name, email address and password you enter. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.
Links you paste or share to the app. When you play a link from a hosting service, the app sends that link to the Play Karlo server, which finds a playable video address for it. The request does not include your name, email or account ID.
Messages to us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write.

2. Information collected automatically

Usage and device information. Through Google Firebase Analytics we collect app events (such as app opens and screens used), an app instance identifier, device model, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate location derived from your IP address (country or city level, not precise GPS).
Notification token. Firebase Cloud Messaging gives your device a token so we can send notifications. If you are signed in, the token is stored with your account so messages reach your devices.
Server logs. Our server records technical details of each request, such as IP address, time and the link requested, to keep the service secure and to fix problems. These logs are deleted after 30 days.

3. Information that stays on your device

The following is stored only on your phone and is never sent to us:

your play history, resume positions, downloads and app settings;
photos and videos on your device. If you allow access, the app reads your gallery only to list and play your own videos in the "On device" tab. We do not upload, copy or analyse them.

You can remove this information at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.

4. How we use information

We use the information above to:

provide the app's features: sign-in, finding and playing videos, and keeping your ad-free pass on your account;
send notifications about updates and features (you can turn them off in your phone's settings);
understand how the app is used, fix crashes and improve performance;
prevent abuse, keep the service secure, and comply with the law.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising profiles.

5. Service providers we share with

We share information only with service providers that run parts of the app for us, and only for that purpose:

Google Firebase Authentication (sign-in): name, email, profile photo, account ID.
Google Cloud Firestore (stores your account record): name, email, profile photo, sign-in method, ad-free pass, notification tokens.
Google Firebase Analytics (usage statistics): app events, device information, app instance ID.
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications): notification token.
Google Firebase Remote Config (app configuration): app instance ID.
Our hosting provider (runs the Play Karlo server): links you play, IP address, server logs.

Google's handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others. If Play Karlo is transferred to a new owner, this policy will continue to apply to information collected before the transfer.

6. Third-party links and services

Play Karlo plays videos from links that you choose. Those videos are hosted by third-party services that we do not own or control. When a video plays, it streams from that service, which may receive your IP address and apply its own privacy policy. Please read the policies of any service whose links you use.

7. Data security

All data sent between the app, our server and Google Firebase is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Account data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure with access limited to your own account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you as the law requires if a breach affects you.

8. How long we keep data

Account data: for as long as your account exists, and deleted when you delete your account.
Server logs: 30 days.
Analytics data: kept by Google Firebase Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted automatically.
On-device data: until you clear it or uninstall the app.

9. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and its data at any time:

In the app: open Profile, tap Delete account, and confirm. Your account record (name, email, profile photo, ad-free pass and notification tokens) and your sign-in are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
Without the app: email premcayt@gmail.com from the address linked to your account with the subject "Delete my Play Karlo account". We will confirm and delete your account and data within 30 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it in the Google Play Store to stop future charges. Analytics data that is not linked to your account expires on the schedule in section 8.

10. Children

Play Karlo is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact premcayt@gmail.com and we will delete it.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to nominate someone to act for you. To use any of these rights, email premcayt@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days. You can also withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the app.

12. The Play Karlo website

This policy also covers playkarlo.deskapps.in. The website has no accounts. Links you search there are sent to the Play Karlo server in the same way as in the app, and vidy.st links are handled in your browser without reaching our server.

The website shows ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on those visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
